Hello Everyone! I am looking to buy a new airsoft gun and want some advice. I want a gun that can shoot far, but still comes in under the fps limits at my local field 400 fps. I am looking at a couple, but the big question I want to ask is what type of gun should I get? M4, M14, or Ak, I really like all three styles, but can only afford one gun. Thanks in advance!

Hi, welcome to GunNook!

What's your price range?

Personally, I'd go with an M4, just my preference.

We have some nice ones available that may meet your needs.

I have seen some M14 that have been built to be fantastic marksmen rifles that shoot across the field with ease and has pretty tight groping, same with the M4 but if your waning it for marksmen id go with the M14, if your still waning to run around and get in fire fights but are just looking for something with range id go with the m4 and just do some simple mods to it.

Agreed.
Some of the M14 models can make really great long range shooters.

I like the M4 for a multi-purpose role though. They're good for a CQB battle rifle, and some models will also fill the marksman role.

Okay, I think I'll have to decide between the m14 and the m4 then. I do really want a gun that can shoot across the field, but what Paul described as the m4's strengths sounds really good to me...

If your liking the M4 style and want to get a really good gun the VFC Avalon VR16 is a great bet. To start its VFC, cant go wrong with picking up a VFC, the gun is pretty light for having a metal receiver but feels very solid with no wobble at all and will take a beating. The VR16 comes with a mosfet so you can run 11.1 Lipos no problem. The reason I like the Avalon over say a krytac is you can program the fire selector to shoot bust round.

Oh, sounds enticing... Can it be upgraded to shoot really far?

Yes these guns are very easy to upgrade and the VR16 comes in a few different styles to help cater to your playing style below I have a link so you can check out the different motels you can get. Hope this helps you out.
