    The SR1911 is Ruger's entry into the popular 1911 market. The SR1911 is true to the original 1911 design with some improvements. It offers easy take-down and re-assembly. The design features the classic 1911 slim line profile with checkered hardwood grips and checkered back-strap. Ruger says the SR1911 is precision machined from stainless steel for smooth fit , function, and superior out-of-the-box accuracy. It has an over-sized ejection port and extended mag release button for those interested in using it for competition. Other features include: An aluminum, skeletonized, trigger with adjustable over-travel stop. The trigger's action is reported to be "crisp", no creep with light trigger pull and positive reset. A skeletonized hammer completes the light weight features. The SR1911 mounts a 3-dot sight, dovetailed Novak LoMount rear sights and a standard front sight for greater target acquisition and ease of draw/carry.

    The grip safety on the SR1911 is an over-sized beavertail design to assure proper, reliable function. It also has an extended thumb safety and slide stop lever for ease of use. A visual loaded chamber port rounds out it's safety features.

    Finish is low-glare stainless and the slide features serrations for better grip.

    Extras include: A Titanium firing pin; one 7-round and one 8-round stainless steel magazine; a bushing wrench; and soft case.

    I've always been a fan of Ruger's firearms, now, some people may be tired of seeing one 1911 after another being introduced by firearms companies, I'm not one of those people. The design is tried and true, why not add another quality manufacturer like Ruger? Variety is the spice of life they say! With Ruger's SR1911, you're getting a lot of the extras you would normally pay through the teeth for, all in a gun that costs less than most American made offerings of the celebrated 1911 design.
