  • Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle

    Video By: http://www.gunblast.com

The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle is based on the Ruger M77 design and has M77 features such as a reliable Mauser style claw extractor that controls round feed , one-piece stainless steel bolt, integral scope mounts (with scope rings included). It also features a 10 round, steel, single stack, detachable magazine.

The Scout Rifle has a 16.5″, cold hammer-forged, alloy steel barrel with a Mini 14 style semi-shrouded, no glare front sight and adjustable ghost ring rear sight. It features a top Picatinny rail for the mounting of various optics, including Scout Scopes.

A Mini-14 style flash suppressor is attached to reduce muzzle flash due to the .308 Winchester round and the short 16.5" barrel. The suppressor is removable and the 5/8 x 24 TPI muzzle threads allow most for the installing of most .30 caliber muzzle accessories such as: muzzle brakes, flash suppressors and sound suppressors .

The Ruger GSR features a matte black oxide finish on the barrel and receiver mounted in a black laminate stock with sling swivel studs and checkered grip and forearm for a secure grip. The soft rubber recoil pad, comes with three 1/2″ spacers allow the shooter to adjust the length of pull and allow the rifle to be modified to fit different shooters or to accomodate for thickness of clothes or body armor. The rear grip is laser-engraved with the Gunsite Raven logo, and the receiver is also marked as “Ruger Gunsite Scout”.

The rifle’s one-piece trigger guard and magazine well are made with high-impact, glass-reinforced nylon. The magazine release is a Mini-14 style lever centrally located in front of the trigger guard for ambidextrous operation.

All these features add up to one accurate, rugged, reliable, all purpose rifle. Ruger says it's "The one rifle to have if you can have only one."

Sounds awesome Les do get back with us on that. I read about this rifle in my American Rifleman last month. Sounds like the best of both worlds.
