Survival transportation?

Has anyone given any thought to how they'll get around if it hits the fan? You may have motor vehicles, but what happens when the fuel runs out? Even if you have a 4X4, there are some places they just can't go. Walking is great, but you can only walk so far and not very fast. I think having a good mountain bike would be a great way to get around. Also owning and/or learning how to ride a horse might come in handy. Just something to think about.
